The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has announced the recipients of the “Certified Health & Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program 2024.”
This year, 2,988 large enterprises and 16,733 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have been recognized for their efforts in promoting health management. The top large enterprises are distinguished with the “White 500” title, while the top SMEs receive the “Bright 500” title.
What is the Certified Health & Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program?
Initiated by METI in 2016, this program aims to highlight outstanding health and productivity management practices among corporations. By recognizing companies that prioritize employee health, the program enhances their reputation among employees, job seekers, business partners, and financial institutions. Evaluation criteria were established by the Health Investment Working Group of the Health and Medical New Industry Council.
Goals and Importance of the Program
The primary goal of the program is to establish a sustainable society where both individuals and organizations can thrive. By encouraging companies to integrate health management into their corporate strategy, METI aims to create a culture where employee well-being is seen as critical to corporate success. This approach improves employee satisfaction and productivity, reduces healthcare costs, and fosters a more efficient and motivated workforce.
Additionally, the recognition helps companies attract top talent and fosters trust and loyalty among existing employees by demonstrating the company’s commitment to their overall well-being.
